Men's Walking Weekend

Just back from a great weekend eating, sorry, walking in the Peak District. Thoroughly enjoyable in every way - good company, three cooked meals a day (well, you have to fuel the hard-working body, don't you), good accommodation, amazing scenery - did I mention the food? I now need to find a copy of the New Home Encyclopedia by Joan Wheeler (Odhams 1932), so that I can continue my series of short sermons on such helpful topics as the correct times of day that a lady may call on another, removing common household stains (with dangerous chemicals), why you shouldn't give your children money and send them to a cafe, what to do in the event of a carburettor fire, and how to construct a 'Dog Kennel, Sanitary.' Good times.

What's your Kryptonite?

Mine's lilies - I can't stand the things; they make my face itch, I feel drowsy, and start to sneeze. I used to really struggle at Easter in my former parishes as there was a tradition of buying a lily in memory of a loved one, which would then be incorporated into the flower arrangements in the churches. They looked lovely, but might as well have been glowing green rocks. What's your Kryptonite?
